This framework is developed by a team of former McKinsey and Big 4 consultants. The presentation follows the headline-body-bumper slide format used by global consulting firms.
Explore the BPMM Series: Standardized presentation by ex-McKinsey & Big 4 consultants. Enhance process maturity with actionable insights for operational excellence. Business Process Maturity Model (BPMM) Series: Standardized is a 31-slide PPT PowerPoint presentation slide deck (PPTX) available for immediate download upon purchase.
The Business Process Maturity Model (BPMM) captures a 5-level evolutionary improvement path that guides organizations as they move from immature, inconsistent business activities (level 1) to mature, disciplined processes (level 5). BPMM orders these stages so that improvements at each stage provide a foundation on which to build improvements undertaken at the following stage.
Therefore, we can leverage BPMM to provide a roadmap for Continuous Process Improvement. BPMM also helps identify process deficiencies and guides the improvements in logical, incremental steps.
BPMM originally was developed to ensure organizational readiness prior to initiating technology deployment. BPMM helps achieve uniform standards, identify weaknesses in workflows, and create standardized tailored processes that simplify the requirements for enterprise applications. BPMM achieves organizational agility, reduces the complexity of enterprise applications, and provides means to specify contractual requirements correctly and lower operating costs.
BPMM assimilates important guidelines, improvements and lessons learned from its predecessor models—Process Maturity Framework (PMF),
Capability Maturity Model (CMM) for Software, and Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI).
The complete BPMM framework encapsulates 30 Process Areas that are defined over 5 Maturity levels. This full framework is explained in detail across 5 presentations. This is the second presentation, which provides a deep dive into level 3 of BPMM, Standardized.
The slide deck also includes some slide templates for you to use in your own business presentations.
This presentation delves into the intricacies of Level 3, Standardized, within the BPMM framework. It outlines the establishment of standard processes and assets crucial for consistent performance. The PPT covers various process areas, including Organizational Process Management, Competency Development, and Resource Management. It provides actionable insights into managing configurations, analyzing market needs, and ensuring effective product and service deployment. This comprehensive guide is essential for organizations aiming to streamline operations and achieve higher maturity levels.
This PPT slide outlines the third level of the Business Process Maturity Model (BPMM), termed "Standardized." This stage focuses on establishing standardized processes and assets for effective work execution. Key process areas include Organizational Process Management (OPM) for optimizing workflows, Organizational Competency Development (OCD) for enhancing employee skills, and Organizational Resource Management (ORM) for efficient resource allocation. Organizational Configuration Management (OCM) ensures consistency in processes, while Product and Service Business Management (PRBM) adopts a strategic approach to market offerings. Additional areas—Product and Service Work Management (PRWM), Product and Service Preparation (PRP), Product and Service Deployment (PRD), Product and Service Operations (PRO), and Product and Service Support (PRS)—cover the entire lifecycle of products and services. These areas identify critical issues for achieving operational maturity, guiding organizations in systematically improving processes aligned with strategic objectives.
This PPT slide focuses on Organizational Competency Development (OCD) to enhance workforce capabilities aligned with strategic objectives. Key goals include planning competency development and developing workforce competencies. Planning involves creating clear competency descriptions and identifying relevant development activities for optimal performance. Effective competency development materials guide employees through learning journeys, while systematic training ensures measurable outcomes. Engagement in development activities is crucial for successful competency enhancement. The evaluation of competency development assesses activity effectiveness and addresses issues, with record-keeping vital for tracking progress and accountability. Security protocols protect sensitive information related to competency development, ensuring confidentiality. This framework supports organizations in systematically developing workforce capabilities for operational excellence.
This PPT slide outlines the framework for Organizational Configuration Management (OCM), focusing on managing configuration management (CM) product baselines. Key goals include identifying configurations to clarify existing items within the CM framework, controlling configuration contents to manage changes and minimize risks of unauthorized alterations, and reporting CM information to ensure transparency and accountability. Essential practices include creating a CM strategy for direction, establishing organizational CM repositories for centralized access to configuration data, and conducting regular audits to ensure compliance and facilitate corrective actions. Delivering CM product baselines is critical for operational effectiveness, supporting organizational objectives and enhancing process maturity.
This PPT slide outlines the critical process area of Product and Service Support (PSS), focusing on sustaining operations and availability of offerings. The primary objectives include maintaining offering components and managing disruptions. Maintaining components involves ensuring a consistent supply of consumables and updating built-in data and rules for seamless operation. Managing disruptions minimizes operational risks through business continuity plans and disaster recovery infrastructure, enabling effective responses to unforeseen challenges. Key practices include regular maintenance of infrastructure, monitoring system operations, backing up data, and restoring it to a known state, all essential for operational resilience and reliability of offerings.
