One of the most important, and yet persistently elusive, questions in Change Management is this: "How do we know if a change has been successful?" After months or even years of effort, vast amounts of budget and energy, cross-functional coordination, and stakeholder engagement, what does success look like? And how do we measure it? There are one of three ways that measures and helps to illuminate a more comprehensive picture of change success e.g. (1) Value for Money, (2) achieving Business Benefits Realisation, and (3) securing Return on Investment (ROI)? They all sound like the same thing. Are they? A simple question, yet it taps into a complex and often misunderstood area of business performance. But what is the difference. In these slides I'll break down these three concepts, examine how they relate (and don't relate) to one another, and propose how we can use them more wisely when assessing change outcomes.
