This is module 7 of a 10-module online training program on the Accelerated Corporate Transformation (ACT) methodology, developed by Dr. Robert H. Miles. It includes the training presentation, video lecture, and course workbook for this module.

Dr. Miles is the world's foremost expert on Corporate Transformation. He has led the implementation ACT in some of the most iconic Corporate Transformations, including Apple, General Electric, IBM Global Services, Symantec, National Semiconductor, Office Depot, PricewaterhouseCoopers, PGA Tour, Rockwell International, Infineon Technologies, Southern Company, and Black & Veatch, as well as a series of smaller public utilities, healthcare institutions, and high-tech startups.

The full online training program, The Transformation Leader's Guide, is available as a Flevy Executive Learning (FEL) program (see link in "Did you know?" box to the right).

Module 7, titled "The Align Phase," focuses on aligning the entire organization to achieve rapid and effective transformation.

Dr. Miles introduces the concept of setting individual Commitments to Action (CTAs) to transition from planning to execution. These CTAs ensure that every employee, from top management to the front lines, is engaged in and accountable for the transformation process. By aligning individual commitments with the broader Transformation Initiatives, the organization can achieve a cohesive and focused effort towards its goals.

The module emphasizes the importance of aligning organizational values with behavior change commitments. Dr. Miles explains that living by shared company values helps individuals make decisions that support the transformation, even in new and challenging situations. By tying values to specific behavior changes, leaders can foster a culture that supports the desired transformation outcomes. Additionally, module 7 covers the process of conducting a "Stop Doing" exercise to identify and eliminate low-impact projects and activities. This exercise helps prioritize resources and focus efforts on the most critical Transformation Initiatives. Dr. Miles highlights the importance of achieving absolute alignment from top to bottom, addressing any deviations quickly to prevent misalignment from hindering the transformation.
