DESCRIPTION
This is module X of a 10-module online training program on the Accelerated Corporate Transformation (ACT) methodology, developed by Dr. Robert H. Miles. It includes the training presentation, video lecture, and course workbook for this module.
Dr. Miles is the world's foremost expert on Corporate Transformation. He has led the implementation ACT in some of the most iconic Corporate Transformations, including Apple, General Electric, IBM Global Services, Symantec, National Semiconductor, Office Depot, PricewaterhouseCoopers, PGA Tour, Rockwell International, Infineon Technologies, Southern Company, and Black & Veatch, as well as a series of smaller public utilities, healthcare institutions, and high-tech startups.

Module 9, titled "The Execute Phase," focuses on the critical steps necessary to maintain momentum and achieve successful execution of transformation initiatives. Dr. Miles highlights that a successful launch is just the beginning; leaders must now navigate through the execution phase, which includes managing predictable slumps and maintaining high engagement.
This module provides a detailed roadmap for leaders to shift from visionary roles to execution-focused roles, ensuring sustained progress and overcoming the typical post-launch challenges.
Key insights from this module include addressing the three predictable slumps: Post-Launch Blues, Midcourse Overconfidence, and the Presumption of Perpetual Motion. Leaders are advised to shift to a "ballast and keel" role, maintaining a steady course and continually reinforcing transformation messages. This involves regular progress assessments, quarterly leadership checkpoints, and mini-cascades to keep the organization aligned and focused. Dr. Miles emphasizes the importance of maintaining high engagement and accountability at all levels, ensuring that transformation initiatives are continuously driven forward.
This module also covers the importance of integrating the transformation process into the regular management cycle, making it an ongoing part of the organizational culture. This involves annual re-planning, confronting new realities, and refining transformation initiatives.
