BENEFITS OF THIS DOWNLOADABLE POWERPOINT DOCUMENT

  1. Produce a category strategy that gets approved rather than filed, using a defined lifecycle with a decision gate at each stage.
  2. Analyse a category across all four levers that move indirect cost -- demand, specification, process and contract -- not price alone.
  3. Answer the question every CFO asks: which financial year does the benefit actually land in?

PROCUREMENT STRATEGY PPT TEMPLATE DESCRIPTION

Category Management Playbook PPTX: Download procurement and sourcing strategy templates with Porter, PESTLE, and benefit phasing Excel models for category managers. Category Management Playbook and Strategy Pack is a 13-slide PPT PowerPoint presentation template (PPTX) with a supplemental Zip archive file document available for immediate download upon purchase.

A complete, end-to-end category management system: the playbook that describes the lifecycle, the workbooks that do the analysis, and the presentation pack that gets the strategy approved.
This is not a set of blank templates. The internal analysis workbook is structured around the four levers that actually move indirect cost – demand, specification, process and contract – and the benefit phasing model answers the question every CFO asks: which financial year does this land in?

WHAT IS INCLUDED
• Category Management Playbook (Word) – the full lifecycle, stage by stage, with the decision required at each gate and the evidence needed to pass it.
• Internal Analysis Workbook (Excel) – demand, specification, process and contract analysis with live formulas.
• Supply Market Intelligence Guide (Word) – how to research a market you do not know: sources, questions, and how to read what you find.
• Porter and PESTLE Canvases (PowerPoint) – both frameworks, ready to complete and present.
• Category Strategy Pack (PowerPoint) – the approval deck, structured so a steering committee can decide rather than discuss.
• Benefit Phasing Model (Excel) – run-rate versus in-year benefit, phased by month.

WHO IT IS FOR
Category managers, procurement leads and consultants who need to produce a defensible category strategy rather than a document that gets filed.
Every spreadsheet ships unlocked, with live formulas, one worked example row and a blank working area. Colour convention: blue on yellow is an input, black is a formula, green is a cross-sheet reference.

WHAT YOU RECEIVE
The primary document is a 13-slide guide covering the material above, in the same consulting layout used throughout this series: a headline that states the point, a body that evidences it, and a closing line that tells you what to do with it. It is designed to be read on its own or presented internally.
The accompanying archive contains 6 working files – Excel models with live formulas, Word templates and, where relevant, PowerPoint canvases. Nothing is password-protected or locked. A locked template a professional cannot adapt is worth nothing.

HOW THE SPREADSHEETS ARE BUILT
Every workbook uses the standard financial-modelling colour convention, applied consistently: blue text on a pale yellow fill is an input you type over, black text is a formula you should not overwrite, and green text is a reference to another sheet that must be changed at source. Each model carries one worked example row, shaded and italicised, which you delete once your own data is in, and an assumptions block at the top that should be read before any output below it is trusted. Print areas and page setup are configured on every sheet.

WHAT THIS IS NOT
This is educational and commercial material, not legal, tax or financial advice. Contractual content exists so that you can identify what matters commercially and ask better questions of whoever does advise you; contract law and regulatory obligations vary by jurisdiction. All case material is composite – figures are drawn from real engagements, but no case describes a single identifiable organisation and every company name is invented.
A licence page inside each file sets out the terms of use: unrestricted use for your own work and inside your own organisation, no resale or redistribution outside it.
