Organizational Excellence Framework - Resource Management (PowerPoint PPTX)

This is an introductory workshop on resource management. It focuses on defining and implementing good resource management practices that are covered in the Organizational Excellence Framework (copyright 2010 Dawn Ringrose) publication that integrates global excellence models and provides implementation guidelines for the practitioner. These practices have been validated by over 20 years of research.

The resource management practices include: Defining resource requirements (e.g. financial, asset, technology, knowledge, transportation); Developing a strategy to manage resources effectively; Managing the security of resources; Minimizing the adverse impact of products and services on the environment and community; Managing the maintenance and utilization of assets to improve total life cycle performance; Identifying alternative and emerging technology and related cost-benefit to the organization and society; Providing appropriate access for stakeholders to relevant knowledge and information; Preparing for resource interruptions.

Each practice includes a definition, implementation guidelines and practical examples and may include applicable research findings. The workshop is formatted so that participants learn about best management practices related to the topic and have an opportunity to self-assess against the practices and develop an improvement plan to address gaps.
