Risk Culture Measurement Workbook (Excel): Score It, Find the Weak Spot, Act on It
Description (paste into Gumroad):
Most boards say culture matters. Few can show a number for it, or say which department, level or behavior is dragging it down.
This Excel workbook is the working tool behind my LinkedIn series on risk culture measurement. It turns the four indicators of sound risk culture in the Financial Stability Board's 2014 guidance (tone from the top, accountability, effective communication and challenge, incentives) into a scored, repeatable measurement system.
What you get
A 24-question survey, six questions per indicator, each mapped to an FSB sub-indicator number
Automatic scoring on a six-point scale with a weighted composite, tested against a minimum you set
Results by department, by level, and by question, with small groups hidden to protect anonymity
A perception gap view: senior leaders versus frontline staff
Quarterly trend, a dashboard with four charts, and ten non-survey culture indicators rated green, amber or red
Triangulation against an independent review, an action tracker, a board questions test, and a worked example
A "Start Here" sheet that explains every sheet and reads the whole file back to you in plain English
Who it is for
Chief risk officers, heads of ERM, internal auditors, compliance teams, company secretaries, and consultants who need to put a defensible culture result in front of a risk committee or board.
How it works
Paste in your survey responses, pick the reporting period, and every sheet updates. All weights, the threshold and the score bands sit in one Settings sheet, so you can set them to your organization's own judgment.
Please note
The sample data inside the file is illustrative only. It is not real survey data from any organization. Clear it before use (instructions are included).
The default weights (30/25/25/20) and the 4.00 minimum are suggested starting points. The FSB, COSO and ISO 31000:2018 do not prescribe them.
The survey wording is original, with references to the FSB sub-indicators. It is not quoted from the FSB document.
Works in Microsoft Excel. Fully editable, no macros.
