BENEFITS OF DOCUMENT
DESCRIPTION
The Industrial-Organizational Psychology Intro Workbook is a small but value-driven document that helps professionals apply principles from Industrial-Organizational Psychology in two main employee management and development functions – Talent Management (Industrial) and Organizational Development (Organizational)
The industrial side, which involves looking at how to best match individuals to specific job roles, identifying talent in sourcing, recruiting, and selection and developing talent to be effective and efficiency in cost and revenue. People who work in this area might assess employee characteristics and then match these individuals to jobs in which they are likely to perform well as well as other value driven activities training employees, developing job performance standards, and measuring job performance.
The organizational side of psychology in the workbook focuses on understanding how organizations affect individual and group behavior. The workbook engages exploration of structures, social norms, management styles, leadership and role expectations.
The workbook does not go into full depth of I-O Psychology, but does lay a foundation and exploration into behaviors, thinking and decision making of company stakeholders.
