  1. Provides a useful template for conducting an opening meeting for a management system audit.
  2. Create a professional and positive impression on the auditee organization (client).
  3. Pave the way for a structured and smooth audit.

Many certification bodies and internal/external auditors do not conduct effective opening meetings. These are extremely important and a valuable part of the audit process for obvious reasons. It is not uncommon to witness auditors conducting management system audits and not paying much attention to this important element. They simply rush into the auditing of the management system(s) without setting the tone for the audit in positive manner.

The opening meeting is one of the most important events and therefore it must be handled with the utmost precision in terms of its conduct. It introduces, possibly for the first time, real live representatives of the auditor company, and can set the scene for the audit and all future dealings with the client. It is a great forum to create a relaxed atmosphere and to put the auditee organization (client) at ease.

This PowerPoint provides a structured agenda that is recommended for the opening meeting. It is to make sure that the auditee organization is extremely clear about the audit structure and expectations. There is nothing worse than the auditees not understanding what is happening during each part of the audit.

This PowerPoint template is based on an ISO 9001:2015 quality management system audit. It can also be adapted for other management system audits.
