The Business Requirements Document ( BRD ) is critical artifact for Project Managers and Business Analysts.
The BRD details everything that the new solution requires to be successful and will provide clarity and context all parts involved.

This template contains examples of the below key components:
RACI Matrix – The RACI Matrix lists of the deliverables and the responsibilities of those involved in the project.
Glossary – The project Glossary lists all terms, acronyms, and abbreviations used the documents and respective definitions.
Executive Summary – This is a section that summarizes the entire document, outlining the need for the project, its requirements, and how does it tie up to your overall business goals.
Product Solution Scope – The Product and Solution Scope describes the business areas and services covered by the product or solution, and major deliverables.
Business Case – Business Case contains the Critical Success Factors (CSF), estimates on cost/benefit, Return on Investment (ROI), and other.
Business Services and Processes – Business Services and Processes include all the impacted business services and processes whether or not they have an IT component.
Process Workflow Diagrams – Visually description of the As-Is and the To-Be process flows for business services and business processes.
Actors – Description of the entities that interact with the business area and IT system
Business Rules – Business Rules underpin how the organisation carries out its work and are the basis for the decisions made at organisation level, which in turn decide the information distributed and the sequence of tasks undertaken.
Functional and Non-Functional Requirements – Functional Requirements set the features that the solution should provide and Non-Functional Requirements define how well the service must perform, rather than the nature of the interaction and workflow
Test Plan – The test plan should address the steps required to verify if the solution is "fit for purpose" and "fit for use".
