The measurement of success and failure within Change Management continues to confuse people because of the complexities involved and the different types of projects undertaken. The measurement of success and failure in Change Management is a perennial debate. It is one of the most hotly debated subjects within the discipline of Change Management so it is worth the extra effort.
I have considered the subject many times but have failed to come up with a suitable approach but I think that the use of a Balanced Scorecard approach may just be one of those approaches worth considering. The term balanced scorecard (BSC) refers to a strategic management performance metric used to identify and improve various internal business functions and their resulting external outcomes. Used to measure and provide feedback to organizations, balanced scorecards are common among companies in the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, and Europe. Data collection is crucial to providing quantitative results as managers and executives gather and interpret the information. Company personnel can use this information to make better decisions for the future of their organizations.
The author has been in the "business of change and transformation" since 1974 and has worked across the length and breadth of the UK, across many European countries, and Internationally in a multitude of industry sectors and has "change managed" innumerable technology solutions. He is now a full-time Change Management Trainer delivering his unique Driving Change Management Course globally and creating an ever-growing Highway of Change Agent network using his Practical Framework Approach to Change. He is also an online Consultant, Blogger, Speaker, Coach & Mentor, and Trusted Advisor on all matters related to "change and transformation"
