Supplier Value Analysis is the best method to perform guaranteed cost reduction. Basically, you retain the function of the part or subassembly and reduce the costs looking for alternate methods to improve the products value. You and your Supplier should study the product or subassembly to be Value Analyzed. Is the product pleasing enough to improve customer purchases?
Use of the Value Analysis questionnaire enables Value Analysis benefits. Analyze: Function, Material, Labor, Process, and Standardization as a team, both at the Supplier and your own company team. Question and analyze an item to find the best cost reduction method. Brainstorming together with any ideas and put all ideas on a white board. Choose the idea that suits everyone. Locate a Suggestion Box in the shop and office for all employees to submit their new ideas to the Value Analysis Coordinator. You must have involvement by management and your employees, so everyone can be creative and reduce costs for everyone's benefit, especially the customer.
