With AI capability changing daily and a plethora of data dashboards, how technically savvy does a Change Manager need to be? Given the increasing overlap between technology and people-driven transformation, Change Managers are, and should remain, primarily people-oriented, but the role increasingly demands a foundational level of technical know-how to stay relevant, credible, and effective in a rapidly evolving landscape. While Change Managers don't need to become technologists, they do need to be "technically fluent" enough to bridge the gap between technical teams and impacted people. This fluency builds credibility, sharpens change impact analysis, and allows them to challenge constructively and advocate effectively for the people side of change.
