DESCRIPTION
Identifying the main stakeholders and their level of influence can be vital to the success of your project. Stakeholder analysis involves recognizing individuals and groups with the power to either sway or make a key decision.
Mapping can be used to get a deeper understanding of the position and motive of each stakeholder involved in the decision making process. Use the Stakeholder Analysis Matrix to identify key stakeholders, evaluate their interest, power, support level and flexibility. Automatically generate a Decision Support Quotient, and view the Stakeholder Analysis Map that graphically represents each stakeholder?s position.
Here is an action plan for this tool:
1. Prepare a Stakeholder Analysis ? Use this Stakeholder Analysis Matrix to assess the influence and buy in of key stakeholders.
2. Identify Risks & Threats ? Examine your Stakeholder Analysis Map to determine which stakeholders could be a threat to project success.
3. Develop Action Items ? based on your analysis, develop action items and key success factors for each stakeholder and follow up to monitor progress.
4. Update your Matrix ? when new information related to interest, power, support level, and flexibility is learned, update your stakeholder matrix/map.
5. Communicate with Project Team ? share your results on a weekly basis.
The Stakeholder Analysis Matrix provides a comprehensive visual representation of stakeholder influence and buy-in, allowing you to pinpoint key influencers and potential risks with precision. The matrix includes a detailed breakdown of each stakeholder's role, interest, power, current support, and flexibility, culminating in an Influence x Buy-In score. The accompanying Stakeholder Analysis Map visually categorizes stakeholders into key influencers, decision supporters, and potential threats, making it easier to strategize engagement efforts. This tool is essential for project managers aiming to navigate complex stakeholder landscapes and ensure project alignment with organizational goals.
