Conflict tends to have a negative connotation based on our experiences, but it does not have to be this way. When we seek to understand, we communicate that we care enough to work through difficult situations and determine how to make things better to reduce stress, promote communication and enhance teamwork.
What is the cost to your organization when an individual withholds information? Whether information is being withheld intentionally or out of a fear of failure, it is not ever a good idea for a supervisor or manager to be caught off guard. It's difficult to manage situations when we are forced to be reactive versus proactive.
