Standard Storyboard templates are used to record the story of a project as it works through the improvement process. There are many different ways to present the story of a project. How you will present will depend upon the type of project that has been worked.
The ideal is to have a standard pack which can be used regardless of the type of project executed. This way all project stories look the same and are easy to understand and use. The standard format enables end users and stakeholders to become familiar with the mechanics of how a project is executed, enabling them to therefore focus on the result and not the template.
The pages are often organized according to the problem solving steps. The template also offers a guide to the team and project leader providing them structure in order to complete the problem solving and drive to an improvement.
A complete storyboard can be used as follows:
• Gain buy in / approval from management and stakeholders around the change
• Documented record of the change which can then be reference back to if further changes need to happen
• Reference materials for Yokoten purposes
• Training examples to others
• Can be submitted for team recognition within organizations recognition program (if available)
• Used to claim benefits with Finance as explains the work that was done to make the saving
• Used in workshops to drive team analysis and record findings
In the PowerPoint pack you will find templates that you can use to document any type of project. Most of the templates have two pages. One page which is blank (ready to use). The second page is populated with guidance or examples on how to use.
The following templates are included:
• Daily Kaizen
• Project Charter
• SIPOC Analysis
• VOC to KPI
• Plan
• Measurement System Analysis
• Cause Analysis
• Action Tracker (two versions depending if Kaizen workshop or project)
• Target Sheet (for Kaizen workshop)
• Financial Estimates
• Saving Calculation Details
• Countermeasures
• Before and After Kaizen (to use in Kaizen workshop or project)
• Statistical Tests
• Control Charts
• Intangible Benefits
• Reflections & Lessons Learned
• Control Plan
