This is a comprehensive list of critical issues to cover before you approve a Manufacturing facility for your business. It includes a number of important considerations, such as the following:
Never approve a manufacturer without visiting the facility. It is easy to send a Purchase Order to a company name, but how do you know that they may be a Manufacturer's Representative and not the actual Manufacturer? You will also pay more to a Manufacturing Representative, as they get a commission on your business from the actual Manufacturer.
If you don't visit, you will not see the what kind of Leadership they have. How do they treat their people and customers? Do they have a state-of-the-art facility: tooling, equipment, or robotics? If you don't visit the Manufacturer and ask these key questions, you can never know if they meet your requirements.
You can also see if the chemistry is there to enable you to collaborate with the Manufacturer.
You physically see how they make components similar to yours. Do they meet your needs for your customers?
