Reengineering is but the first step in changing the organization to survive. The more advanced organizations understand that business transformation needs to change how people are involved, how information is used and how technology is exploited to facilitate tasks and information flow. The more enlightened ones discovered, that they first have to select which process to engineer, and then decide how much these chosen processes need to change.

Today, we need to re-engineer not only the process but also management. Unlike the organization, today's workforce has no need for managers. information and knowledge processing subject matter experts not only question set standards but also are intelligently disobedient and do what they think they should do their way.
