BENEFITS OF DOCUMENT
DESCRIPTION
Requirements for IT systems are often divided into two broad categories: Functional Requirements and Non-functional Requirements. Functional Requirements are usually focused on describing the ICT functionality most visible to users. Non?functional requirements are equally important but often less visible to users, they specify criteria that can be used to judge the operation of a system, rather than specific behaviours.
This document contains extracts from 6 tender documents which were devised for the specific needs of the solution being sought by that tender. Overall some 1400 requirements are defined in the extracts thus providing a comprehensive resource.
The extracts are all Non Functional Requirements and provide a valuable source for authors of tender documents to be able to use them as they think fit either through selecting those appropriate for their solution or as an "aide Memoire" to enable them to produce their own comprehensive set
Note: some of the standards or technical products named will be outdated. That should not prevent authors using the NFR details as a base from which to update and localise for their own specific current situation / solution.
This Excel template offers an extensive range of non-functional requirements, meticulously categorized under key areas such as security, performance, scalability, and more. Each requirement is clearly defined, ensuring that you can easily identify and integrate the most relevant criteria for your specific project needs. The structured format allows for quick reference and efficient selection, streamlining the process of developing comprehensive tender documents.
Designed with practicality in mind, this resource is ideal for IT professionals and project managers who need to ensure their systems meet high standards of reliability, usability, and maintainability. The detailed examples provided can serve as a benchmark, helping you to craft precise and effective non-functional requirements that align with industry best practices.
