Licensed-IP Royalty & Advance Recoupment Control Tower is an Excel control workbook for organizations administering six licensed properties across a four-quarter annual schedule. It brings sell-through transactions, approved license terms, royalty calculations, advance recoupment, annual minimum guarantees and settlement review into a reviewable workflow.
The supplied demonstration contains 1,440 fictional transaction rows—60 for each property-quarter combination—six illustrative contracts and four 2026 quarters. It has no client data or reported client outcomes. Capacity is fixed at the included six properties, four periods and 1,440 source rows. Replacing demonstration values within those schedules is supported. Adding properties, rows or periods requires a controlled extension of related input, calculation and validation schedules, followed by reconciliation; unlimited automatic expansion is not included.
Enter the period source with transaction ID, property, channel, units, gross sales, return, freight, trade-allowance, settlement-quarter and data-class fields. Contract terms define licensor, opening advance, annual guarantee, deduction eligibility and cap, marginal royalty tiers, pool membership and supported credit policy. The control views reconcile eligible capped deductions to net royalty sales, calculate cumulative annual marginal entitlement and period earned royalty, and carry advance balances forward by quarter.
Pooled recoupment is grouped by licensor, period and consistent guarantee-credit policy. Royalty credits are allocated against earned royalties, while asset reductions follow opening advances. Isolated contracts remain separate. Interim quarters do not book annual guarantee top-ups. At the fourth-quarter annual close, the model compares full-year earned royalty with each minimum guarantee, calculates the shortfall and applies the selected royalty-only or guarantee-credit policy. The dashboard presents annual flows and closing advance stock without adding quarterly balances.
Seven control families cover required inputs and policies, deduction bridges, marginal royalties, advance and pool conservation, annual guarantees and settlement, executive/chart parity, and calculation coverage. Traceable property-quarter statements support preparer and independent reviewer checks. A passing arithmetic control supports review but does not approve payment. Resolve exceptions against source transactions and approved terms; preserve reviewer and authorized approver decisions.
The 2026 example uses fictional USD amounts excluding tax. It does not calculate tax, interpret contract law, provide bespoke consulting or guarantee outcomes. Use Microsoft Excel desktop on Windows with the supplied worksheet controls. Other spreadsheet applications are unvalidated. The delivery includes one XLSX workbook, an implementation SOP, a Quick Start guide, a fillable settlement sign-off PDF and a 1,440-row sample CSV. Replace the complete source set and have an authorized reviewer validate current terms before settlement use.
