This toolkit of strategy tools and strategic plan templates was developed during a consulting project for a global manufacturing firm to design its business strategy and operating model. A structured, repeatable strategic planning process was developed for the firm's three SBUs for cascading their business strategy into their eight economic territories.
The toolkit is divided into 7 major sections, each of which includes a number of sub-sections (48 worksheets):
1. Market attractiveness assessment
2. Competitive assessment
3. Performance assessment
4. Growth assessment
5. Key issues, opportunities and objectives
6. Develop alternative options
7. Prioritization
This tool can guide you step-by-step to finish a strategic planning process for your organization. The Strategy Planning Process has three main steps:
1. Determine the Division's position within the market and identify where opportunities exist
2. Develop a set of actions to achieve the Division's objectives
3. Assign accountability, monitor results, and adjust to changing market position
Moreover, the toolkit includes detailed rating systems for relative market share and market fragmentation, allowing for a comprehensive analysis of competitive positioning. This enables you to make informed decisions based on actual or estimated market data, providing a clear rationale for each assessment.
The templates also cover vertical integration assessments, ensuring that you can evaluate the benefits and challenges of integrating various business operations.
