A 13-slide pitch deck framework with the one question each slide must answer, what to include, what to leave out, and the common mistakes that get decks ignored.
This is a framework document, not a slide template – you are buying the argument, not the graphics. For each of the 13 slides it sets out four things: the single question that slide has to answer for an investor, what belongs on it, what to deliberately leave off, and the specific failure mode that causes that slide to lose the room. That last part is the one most pitch advice skips. A market slide does not fail because it lacks a chart; it fails because it asserts a top-down number nobody believes. A team slide does not fail for lack of headshots; it fails when it lists companies instead of what each person actually did.
Everything quoted here is measured from the file itself rather than described from memory: the document contains 129 paragraphs across the 13-slide structure. Nothing is locked, hidden or password protected, so you can lift the prompts straight into whichever deck tool you use.
How to put it to work. Draft your deck against the questions first, in plain sentences, before you open a design tool at all – if you cannot answer a slide's question in one sentence, the slide is not ready and no amount of layout will hide that. Then build the visual deck from those answers. Keep the framework open beside you during rehearsal and check each slide against its stated failure mode. Save your annotated version so the next raise starts from what you learned in this one.
What this is and is not. It is a structural and editorial framework built on the patterns common to decks that raise. It is not a designed PowerPoint template, it does not include graphics, and it cannot make a weak business fundable. It is not investment advice, and nothing in it guarantees an outcome – the framework improves how clearly your case is made, which is the part you control.
Typical users are founders preparing to raise, and the operators and advisers helping them get the story straight before the meetings start. It is delivered as a single Microsoft Word file, and opens in Word, Google Docs and Pages without conversion.
