DESCRIPTION

This product (Manufacturing Industry Financial Models) is a Document Bundle, which you can download immediately upon purchase.

Out of all the industries I've built financial models for, manufacturing has probably presented the most Accounting intensive logic. This is one of the only industries where some of the cost of sales are non-cash items. It is also one where accounts receivable, payable, inventory, and unearned revenue are all relevant.

The star of this bundle is the made to order manufacturing model. It has configurations for all aspects of potential revenue so that no matter how your payments terms are set up, it will be able to handle the logic. This template is driven from order counts per month and then when cash is collected / item is shipped relative to that. It also has inventory purchase terms and the ability to purchase inventory for 'x' months in advance. I also added a cash-basis and accrual-basis option.

The manufacturing sensitivity model is a great high level analysis tool where the user can see up to 36 outputs across 21 data tables, sensitizing price, volume, productivity, fixed costs, variable costs, and more. You will see break-even revenue, break-even price, profit / loss, profit margin, and more when isolating certain variables.

A great feature of all these templates is production planning. Figuring out patterns for production schedules, quantities, and timelines is vital to good manufacturing management. These robust formula architectures help calculate resource requirements, production capacity, and generate revenue based on orders. Additionally, having a solid budget that you can modify and update over time will make decision making more data driven and strategic.

I believe anybody that is in the manufacturing industry can learn and benefit from these spreadsheets.
