Under Article 77 of Regulation (EU) 2023/1542, battery passports become mandatory from 18 February 2027 for applicable electric vehicle batteries, light means of transport batteries and industrial batteries with a capacity greater than 2 kWh.

Information obligations depend on battery category, applicability and regulatory phase-in. Certain carbon-footprint, recycled-content and due-diligence data points have later application dates.

This LITE tracker is not a complete implementation of all regulatory data points, access controls, QR-code requirements or digital-passport interoperability.

Users must independently confirm scope, legal applicability, source evidence, data accuracy and current regulatory requirements before commercial or regulatory use.
