DESCRIPTION
When the crew on Apollo 13 uttered those now immortal words, 'Houston, we've had a problem', they didn't know they would become etched into the vernacular.
We use the phrase to describe one of the seven great business storylines (designed based on the Minto Pyramid Principle), with a slight twist – we are talking about problems we 'have' now and what we are going to do about them.
Houston, We Have a Problem tells the audience about a business problem, it's cause, and what steps are required to implement a recommended set of actions.
It's a classic and this template offers an annotated example that you can cut and paste your own content into.
This was prepared by Davina Stanley and Gerard Castles who have been helping business people use structured communication techniques for decades. They began this work when they joined McKinsey as communication specialists and have continued since, helping thousands of people across many countries.
