The type of sign we use and where we locate it provides important safety information. Safety signs tell people of the hazards associated with a work environment and the controls that need to be applied, e.g.
Personal Protective Equipment, precautions such as ?No Smoking?.
The message on a sign is a combination of any, or all, of the following:
? the shape;
? the colour; and
? the words used.
Whether it is a permanent or temporary sign, the message must be in a simple, visual form. We are generally only involved with the placing of temporary signs in and around our workplace.
