A Prototype is a physical or conceptual representation of a new product or process that allows evaluation in a pilot. A Pilot tests the prototype under limited real world conditions to verify design assumptions versus actual performance and Pre-Production takes a new product or process from concept and pilot evaluation to full production or service.
The objectives of this module are to: understand the role of Prototyping, Piloting and Pre-production in meeting customer requirements, know the steps required to plan, execute and evaluate a pilot and understand the basic deliverables of the Pre-Production process.
This material is suitable for independent study or formal classroom training and includes quiz questions.
