Robust Design is the sequential use of Concept Design, Parameter Design, and Tolerance Design to achieve robustness. It uses the transformation of experimental data using Signal-to-Noise Ratio as a measure of robustness.
The objectives of this module are to: understand Robustness, explain the key elements of both Parameter Design and Tolerance Design, understand the key types of Noise, understand the concept of Signal-to-Noise ratio and understand the basic steps involved in a Robustness Design Study.
This material is suitable for independent study or formal classroom training and includes quiz questions.
