Some processes do not follow a linear model. In those cases, an optimized process may occur with inputs set somewhere in between the high and low settings. Center Points can be used in 2k full and fractional DOE?s to: increase power of the design using only the original design levels and factors, increase information without adding appreciable cost, generate p-values without replications in the design, detect curvature. Data can be analyzed with and without center points.
The objectives of this module are to: introduce the concept of Center Points in Designed Experiments, introduce the concept of curvature and its significance and learn to create designs using center points.
