DESCRIPTION
The Design Scorecard is an excellent tool for assessing the capability of a new design or an existing design when there are multiple factors involved. The Design Scorecard evaluates product performance vs. customer requirements (CTS's). It is a performance measurement tool that evaluates: Product performance, Process performance and People performance. It is used to assess how well a design is supported by its components & processes in one metric. It is a predictor of final quality. It statistically identifies gaps and is a living document.
The objectives of this module are to: understand the elements of the Design Scorecard, assess design capability and sigma scores, interpret the scorecard statistically, validate the design assumptions and determine opportunities for optimization and improvement.
This material is suitable for independent study or formal classroom training and includes an exercise, list of tools and quiz questions.
