Cloud migration programmes rarely fail because a workload cannot technically be lifted and moved. They fail because the organisation behind the migration was not ready before the timeline was set: application inventories are incomplete, dependency maps are missing, and governance structures get built only after the first wave has already slipped.

This Excel-based scoring model gives programme leadership a structured, weighted answer to that readiness question before commitments are made. It scores 30 assessment criteria across six weighted dimensions and rolls the result into a single Cloud Migration Readiness Score on a 1–5 scale, with automated RAG status (Ready / Caution / At Risk) calculated at both dimension and overall level. A built-in Vendor Yes/No toggle activates or deactivates a dedicated Vendor Management dimension and redistributes weighting automatically, so the same instrument produces a relevant readiness view whether the migration is delivered internally or through an external partner.
The workbook opens with an Instructions tab explaining the scoring method and the vendor toggle, followed by a Settings tab where dimension weights, vendor status, and vendor allocation percentage are configured.
