I have recently read a few articles and surveys that are saying Artificial Intelligence is not producing the efficiencies that are claimed by its use e.g. decreased productivity and created more work, individuals have little idea how to achieve productivity with AI, feel like it is negatively impacting their work, unable to keep up to date with all the new emerging tools, their attention span is reduced due to the number of apps being used to name but a few. Given that AI is being touted as some kind of "efficiency panacea" predicting that it will make it easier to do your work, increase your productivity and provide a new dimension to your normal range of work tool-kits even replacing some) this somewhat surprised me.
Adopting AI technology effectively requires a combination of patience, targeted training, and a willingness to adapt as tools evolve. Both individuals and organizations must avoid the trap of trying to adopt "all the AI" and instead focus on meaningful, role-specific integrations that enhance productivity in tangible ways. By promoting realistic expectations, providing education, and fostering a supportive culture around learning AI, businesses can help employees overcome many of the current challenges. The key takeaway is to move from "AI for AI's sake" to purpose-driven AI use that genuinely empowers users. When done thoughtfully, AI can still fulfill its promise to drive efficiencies and enhance productivity without overwhelming those who rely on it.
So, with the help of AI, here are the answers I got (with, of course, some personal amendments and insights from me … well you can't fully trust AI to give you the answer you want can you).
