DESCRIPTION
Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) is a systematic approach for minimizing machine "downtime" resulting from unexpected breakdowns. It emphasizes the role of the machine operator – who becomes more involved with routine checks and fine-tuning. TPM is a proactive approach to detect and repair a part before it causes an interruption in the production process. It also enables equipment to operate more efficiently and reliably.
The objectives of this module are to: define Total Productive Maintenance and Its Importance, discuss Six Major Losses, explain the 7 Steps of Autonomous Maintenance, review the Types of Preventive Maintenance and explain the Three Zeros.
This module is 62 slides and the material is suitable for independent study or formal classroom training and includes quiz questions.
