Predictive maintenance of rotating plant is vital to the budgetary success of the operations organisation. On completion of this Centrifugal Compressor & Steam Turbine training program, the delegate will be able to critically analyze the methodologies employed within the organization and implement improvements where required.
The complete Centrifugal Compressors & Steam Turbines program consists of 16 modules (individual PowerPoint presentations). It provides holistic training that covers the Design, Operation, and Maintenance of Centrifugal Compressors and Steam Turbines
This document refers to the training module 5 only: Compressor Operation. The operation of a Centrifugal Compressor is based on centrifugal forces, which are outward and the tangential forces, which are in the same direction of rotation. Gas enters the compressor through the suction port, which is directed by inlet guide vanes to the center of the impeller. As the impeller rotates, gas rotates with it.
Upon the successful completion of the full program (all 16 modules), you will achieve the following:
• An understanding of the construction and operational constraints of centrifugal compressors and steam turbines.
• Knowledge of how to optimally maintain the equipment for the benefit of the company.
• Learn hints and tips for practical application of monitoring technologies so as to achieve the best results.
