Chris Ortiz is the 2013 Winner of the Shingo Prize for Operational Excellence in Research with over 25 years of operations and engineering experience. He has published 11 books on lean manufacturing and maintenance excellence. Chris owned and operated a successful lean implementation firm for 12 years, leading over 400 kaizen events across North America. He is an active speaker at various industry conferences and expos.

Currently he is the Maintenance Engineering Manager at Louws Truss, where he is led a team of maintenance engineers to achieving a 99% uptime on equipment for over 3 years. He is considered an industry expert in lean manufacturing and kaizen.
