  1. The Defect Analysis Scorecard delivers defect counts and costs for each project.

This scorecard provides a snapshot of defect analysis for each development project throughout its life cycle. To analyze the defect data and provide management to take actions if required to improve a particular phase review effectiveness or code quality to reduce fix costs.
Managers can talk directly to the business in the best-understood quantitative terms.
Scorecard reports defect costs as some % of overall project cost, which in many software businesses is considerably higher or not known with any certainty.
Metrics such as Phase Containment Effectiveness, Defect Containment Effectiveness, Total Containment Effectiveness have been defined with formulas.
