Blockchain is a technology that:
— permits transactions to be gathered into blocks and recorded;
— cryptographically chains blocks in chronological order; and
— allows the resulting ledger to be accessed by different servers.
It's a decentralized, distributed and public digital ledger that is used to record transactions across many computers, so that any involved record cannot be altered retroactively, without the alteration of all subsequent blocks.
