Nine slides from the 66-type Argo Atlas catalog: five chart types in full, the chart-chooser page, and one live editable chart.

This is the free sampler for Argo Atlas. It is 9 slides lifted out of the full 107-slide catalog, and it exists to answer one question before you spend anything: does this system actually help you pick a chart, or does it just hand you more shapes?

Here is what is inside, slide by slide. After the cover, five pages each present one chart type in full: Waterfall (bridging a variance), Marimekko (market size and share in a single area map), the 2x2 Matrix convention, CAGR and delta-arrow notation, and the Comparison Table. All five are built to the same four-part rubric, and that rubric is the actual product:

What it is. The definition in one line.

How to use it. The meeting or the page where the type belongs.

When NOT to use it. The failure mode that costs you credibility in the room. The Waterfall page warns that more than seven drivers, or an overused "Other" bucket, erodes trust. The 2x2 page warns that composite axes like "attractiveness" send the discussion in circles. The Comparison Table page warns that over-highlighting reads as a foregone conclusion.

Evidence. Whether the convention is a documented standard or came out of primary research.

Each of those five pages also carries a worked example with real numbers rather than placeholder text: an FY25 to FY26 operating profit bridge, a three-market share map, a prioritization grid with measurable axes and action-verb quadrant names, a four-year growth series annotated at 16 percent CAGR, and a four-criteria comparison of three options with exactly one column marked as the recommendation.

Slide 7 is the Chart Chooser, and it is the part most sampler packs do not include. It is a lookup table organized by what you want to say, not by chart family: breakdown and composition, change over time, relationships and connections, compare and decide, and state the numbers with rigor. Each column lists its candidate types by number so you can narrow a column down to one type.

Slide 8 is a working native PowerPoint chart, not a screenshot of one. Right-click it, choose Edit Data, type your own numbers, and it redraws in place. A hidden helper series rebuilds the bridge for you when you edit the increase and decrease columns.

The closing slide is plain about what you are holding: a 5-of-66 sample.

The full Argo Atlas covers all 66 types across a 107-slide catalog, with the decision flows and fine points that sit behind the chooser, and 15 of the types rebuilt as data-editable native charts. One practical note for this sampler and for the full catalog alike: install Noto Sans JP first, or PowerPoint will substitute a font and the text will reflow.
