This document refers to the training module 4 only: Centrifugal Compressor Components. The major components of a Centrifugal Compressor unit are the compressor, driver (prime mover), couplings and often gearbox (speed increaser or speed reducer). The primary external part of the compressor is the casing. Internal parts include the inlet guide vanes, impellers, diffuser or volute, diaphragms, bearings and seals.
