Such a culture is not the norm in many societies across the world.<\/li>\n<li>Cultures tend to have distinct words to express certain behaviors in their populace; that trend has been termed as the \u201cCultural Script.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The problem of culture has been successfully solved in Agile implementations outside the U.S. by <a href=\"https:\/\/flevy.com\/browse\/stream\/culture\">adjusting practices to include the aspect of cultural sensitivity.<\/a><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The important question in the Agile vs. Culture debate is: How do the Cultural Scripts customary in a particular country work alongside\u2014or in contradiction of\u2014the principles of Agile methods?<\/p>\n<p>To answer this question, employees of 8 software companies in 3 countries (China, South Korea, and India, that had adopted Agile methodology) were interviewed.<\/p>\n<p>Cultural problems that the participants of study confronted in Agile projects and the uncharacteristic manner of interaction of Agile practices with Cultural Scripts can be narrowed down into the following 3 challenge areas:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Maintain Flexibility &amp;
