DESCRIPTION
Pre-Control was developed by Rath & Strong in 1950?s and was in use until the end of WWII. It is regaining prominence along with Control Charts but is a much simpler implementation of Control Charts. Pre-Control Charts have simple rules of operation; it prevents bad parts from being produced and . . . good parts from being scrapped. Pre-Control gets its name from setting the control limits before parts are produced.
The objectives of this module are to: introduce the concept of pre-control, describe pre-control mechanics, introduce pre-control theory and compare Control Charts and Pre-Control.
