Multiple Regression can be used to: define the relationship between multiple input variables (X?s) and a single output variable (Y), distinguish the critical input variables from the input variables that have little or no effect on the output variable, develop prediction equations that can be used to predict the value of the output variable with given input variables, or to determine the settings of the input variables to give you a specific output variable or to analyze historical data, but use caution; any attempt to assign cause is questionable.

The objectives of this module are to: evaluate the impact of multiple input variables (X?s) on the output variable (Y) through multiple regression, identify which input variables (X?s) are statistically significant in terms of affect on the output variable (Y), develop and evaluate the regression model to validate assumptions, develop and utilize a prediction equation to estimate the output value for specific input values.
